VIAVAI Program: collaborative innovation for businesses
How can Kirkenes become an open-source, collaborative innovation hub between cross-sectorial international enterprises?
Via vai is an Italian expression that describes the animated movement of people coming and going, for instance, in a square.
It expresses the temporary permanence of a mix of different people and how it can generate unexpected outcomes.
I° step: the application form
Your company applies on behalf of your employees. Every company have between 1-4 spots available. As a part of the application, they have to offer a training course to give to the other participants. This is to foster an innovative environment and knowledge exchange.
II° step: choose your accommodation
If your company is selected, you will be offered an accommodation solution with prices -15% lower compared to conventional short-term renting platforms. Your employees can choose if they wish to come alone or bring their families, and can pick accommodation from a small catalogue, renting directly from locals.
III° Step: Assignment of a contact person
Once select the accommodation, you will be assigned a contact person to answer all your questions and guide your employees in the moving process in case you accept to take part in the program. Also, in this stage will be possible to check out which other companies applied for the cooperation program, to help you assess better if eventually join the program
Local Involvement
The program offers the residents of Kirkenes the chance to rent out their spare houses, rooms or cabins for the entire duration of the program, which is one year. Additionally, they can actively take part in the program by providing specialized training courses that utilize their local expertise.
