Context and Research
Project goals
01. Facilitate creativity and social interaction in the workplace
02. Circular solutions for office furniture
Post-pandemic social considerations
“However, there is something utterly important about showing up to the office that the home office will never be able to offer, and that is the force that lies in our collegial community.”
- ForaForm
Social interaction spaces
Investing time in your workers' well-being doesn’t necessarily mean having big gathering parties, going out for lunch, or booking a study trip every once in a while. Investing time in well-being might also be done visually.
Creativity in the workplace
it is crucial giving to our minds the time to process pieces of information, for instance, taking a quick coffee and thinking about the work to get done does not help the creative process.
Idea Generation
Sketches and opportunities
Planning for zones where your workers get to maintain their collegial bonds, or even their own mental health by having room to open up and talk to each other.
Concept visualization
Freedom of use
Going beyond the objective use of a product, getting in touch with personal meaning that every user is able to assign when interacting with the product.
Materials and processes
Simple shapes. Production flexibility.
Critical questions
Furniture as a service
Furniture as a service use at least 40% less new materials, because products remain in use for far longer. Ellen MacArthur Foundation conducted a case study on the positive impact of furniture as a service.
